Bodrum
Castle, marina and nightlife on one side; the green silence of the Gulf of Gökova on the other.
Bodrum is the Aegean at its most social: a crusader castle above a busy marina, beach clubs on the peninsula and restaurants that stay open late. Many guests spend the first and last night here and the days in between somewhere much quieter.
That quieter place is the Gulf of Gökova, a long inlet ringed by pine forest with almost no roads. Its coves have fresh-water springs, village tables at Çökertme and the famous protected sand of Cleopatra's Island. It suits groups who want both celebration and calm in one week.
